The alumni of the class of 1992 experience a summer full of wild pool parties, hot dates and part-time jobs. But the fun in the sun ends and friendships are tested when the grads get ready to enter the “real world”. Joey spends a heated summer in a deceitful love triangle. Caitlin is not ready to fulfill his desire to lose his virginity, but Tessa is! Meanwhile, Snake thinks his summer job as a lifeguard will provide the perfect opportunity for meeting a beautiful girl and “getting laid”. Wheels, pursuing his own dream, restores a beat-up car, but his ride to freedom leads him to jail when he causes a fatal accident by drinking and driving, leaving friend Lucy in critical condition. The Degrassi gang is splitting up, but Simon and Alexa’s autumn wedding reunites many of the young adults, who realize it’s time to move on.

Are there any good part-time jobs for teenagers that I can do every weekend?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

My friend and I are wondering if we could find part-time jobs, preferably in small cafes near the Orchard location. It would be especially great if we could get one together, and we could do a few hours every weekend.

Take a look at notice board in malls, library, bus stop. Else you can also check those online classifieds such as ST701. Good luck.

How to find and apply for part time jobs?

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

I’m 16 and i want to start applying for part time jobs but I have no idea how to start. Where do I start looking? For places like retail stores or fast food places, do you stand in line and wait to ask for an application?
And during interviews, what kind of clothing are best and how do you present yourself?
Do you need a worker’s permit to work when you’re under 18?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I used to just drive around and stop in and get an application. Just ask an employee where can i get an application

Lee Seung Gi Please MV #2 (When a Man Loves a Woman) eng sub

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

First-time viewers should read this description!

This is Lee Seung Gi’s third Music Video, and his first Music Drama. The songs are from his Remake Album, “When a Man Loves a Woman.” The title song is “Please,” or “Chebal” (“Jebal”, etc.), in Korean.

The story’s about LSG and a younger girl; they’re both orphans that grew up together. LSG has been taking care of the girl, supporting her through high school and college by part-time jobs. Like a typical dedicated Asian parent, he doesn’t even let her take a job of her own, because he wants the girl to focus on her studying and he wants to shelter the girl.

Some things to keep in mind:
High school is NOT mandatory in Korea; also, you have to pay for them.
And I don’t think LSG (in this video) is boxing as a hobby, I think it’s a part-time job, also.
Finally, I think LSG is an awesome actor, ESPECIALLY considering he’s a singer. =)

I tried to translate the lyrics of the songs so that there would be the same number of syllables in each line for both Korean and English–that is, any dedicated non-Korean-speaking LSG fan can sing along in English!! =D

Of course, that means that the translations aren’t EXACTLY word-to-word accurate, and some lines might sound a LITTLE awkward… (Don’t kill me.)

…Ok, and that’s it.

And I really appreciate ratings and comments! Thanks!

-Adams, a.k.a. Sophie

Songs featured:
Addio
Desire and Hope (I translated it literally, to “Desire and Blame”) / Wonhago Wonmanghajyo
Tears / Nune-mul (?)
Please / Jebal (Chebal)

What are some part-time jobs with health insurance?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I want to withdraw from my uni, but they are going to keep $900, so I would need to pay my mom back. I was going to get 2 part-time jobs, but then my mom said I won’t have health insurance.

I feel so jipped. I really really really don’t want to attend this college, but I’ve already made my bad decision and feel like I have to finish up here.

UPS, Starbucks, and Walmart all offer health benefits for part timers.

What kind of part-time jobs are there in a county jail?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

I’m 17 years old and I think it would be so cool to work in a jail. Is there part-time jobs available for someone like me in a county jail, like serving food to the inmates or something??

Probably not, considering they are run by the government (which does not like to hire minors). Besides, why would you want to work in a jail? I personally fail to see the draw of working with people who would not respect me day in and day out. But that part is your choice, so, again, I doubt that they would hire you, as you are a minor.
